CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY NORTHRIDGE
The music education department at California State University Northridge is provides numerous volunteers to help facilitate free private lessons for Monroe students.
In addition to providing free private lessons, the music department at CSUN provides opportunities for Monroe students to see concerts at the CSUN campus at no cost to Monroe students. Monroe students have the opportunity to see concerts at the new Saroya Conert Hall as well as the Plaza del Sol Concert Hall. Monroe students attend CSUN concerts ranging from jazz ensembles to concert band and symphony orchestra.

MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS FOUNDATION
The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation has provided multiple grants for the James Monroe High School Music Department. The music department has received equipment ranging from concert band and marching band instruments to string instruments. Thanks to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation the James Monroe High School Music Department has been able to add to the instrument inventory. The band program currently has an instrument available for every one of the band students. 8 years ago, the average student shared their instrument with 2 other students.
The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation has provided instruments and improved the quality of instruction at James Monroe High School. BEYOND THE BELL / KYDS
Beyond the Bell and KYDS provide multiple resources for the James Monroe High School Music Department. Thanks to KYDS, the James Monroe High School Music Department receives 3 staff members at no cost to the music department. The visual marching band staff, percussion staff, and colorguard staff are provided by KYDS.
In addition to the staffing costs, KYDS provides resources and materials ranging from colorguard flags to competition fees for the music department. The contribution from KYDS has been impactful in numerous ways. The resources KYDS provides the music department has helped to increase the quality of the marching band programs like it afterschool.
